Hi Nyna,

I thought you might like to see what happened to the fabric after it made its long and complicated journey. My son is 9 and has been pirate-mad since he was 2. He also loves Scooby-Doo, who of course spends lots of time in Hawaii, so I wanted to create a sort of warm islandy feel. The bedding is made from the yellow fabric, the curtains (more obviously) from the blue.

Hi. Love all the designs. It would be great if your fabrics were more for clothing and bed wear than curtains and couches. I would love to be able to make a doona cover out of some of these. Do you do this?
All of our cotton poplins are for apparel (we are getting more in monthly) and any of our non-upholstery grades are also suitable for clothing though it will be more the weight of linen but much more drape able. Our upholstery grade fabrics are wonderful for jackets or bedspreads as well as for furniture.

Hi Nyna, The barkcloth is beautiful!! Love your packaging, too. I have almost always been disappointed with fabric I have ordered online, but yours is even nicer than I expected. Gorgeous colors and a great texture! Several years ago I made a tote bag from vintage tropical fabric, and have been pressured ever since to make some for resale. Yours is the first source of reproduction barkcloth I have found that really captures the vintage look. I will be making some samples with this batch, and hope to become a regular customer. I will keep watching for your upholstery grade, but in the meantime, I have found that using a bonding fabric for extra body works fine. I am very pleased! Thanks again!

Hi Nyna, I picked up my fern grotto material at the P.O. yesterday, (they tried to deliver it Monday but we weren't here) and a little later in the day they delivered the Hapa material. All in one day, I was so so happy to get them. The material is just as pretty as I pictured! I will be washing them today, (I hope it's ok to dry in the dryer? If you read this early today, would you e-mail me if I shouldn't dry it that way?) It won't kill it but, The manufacture recommends a cold water wash and lining drying the fabric. Thank you for the thoughtful 'extra's' in the packages too, that's a really nice touch! I hope you're not working too hard these days, and also hope to hear from you again, I will be checking the web for more material I'm sure!! I need to tell you that it took my breath away.

It was just one of those days. And when I got to the car with my package from the post office, I opened the box and really expected to be very disappointed. I know that's negative, but I just thought, yeah, here goes, another load of crap and another mistake made by me.

Aloha, You guys have an awesome website. I have been looking for someplace to get Hawaiian material to make a bedspread and pillows (not the tourist kine). I live in northern California and my resources are limited. My problem now is which one. I guess I gotta do eenie meenie minie mo. :)

All I can say is you MUST let us know when your upholstery-grade barkcloth is in. You MUST! (Its in now! Click Upholstery Fabric Color Choices) I got your shipment today. Lovely, beautiful, gorgeous, breathtaking, fabulous, oh so pretty. Guess which one is my husband's favorite? Naturally, the one you're out of, the pink aaniu. We've draped the fabrics everywhere to see how it would look as upholstery and we love it. I am now beyond smitten. I have fallen deeply in love! I can hardly wait to get my sewing machine out to start creating. But alas I am off to teach a yoga class so the creations will have to wait. What couldn't wait was wanting to let you know how pleased I am, how pleased all of us are. Shanti loves hers and has wrapped herself in it and danced around it on the floor. We are all very happy.

Picked up the fabric at the post office this morning, it is lovely, just what I had wanted. I loved the little bag of "bare feet in the sand".
