Our bark cloth, canvas, poplin, broadcloth &
rayon fabrics all feature those
vintage style pattern motifs that will bring back
memories of your grandmothers sofa. They're typical of the fabrics we
Baby Boomers might have taken naps on as children.
Back by popular demand is the same soft 55"
wide nubby textured upholstery fabric like we saw piled up in the sewing
departments of those five and dime stores of yesteryear. Our Bark Crepe upholstery fabric
is less textured.
Both work wonderfully for totes, handbags, and outer clothing such as
jackets. They're soft, drape able and durable. Abrasion testing has
indicated they have met and passed the industry standard of 15,000 rub
cycles. They're perfect for your heavy duty home decor projects such as
drapes, furniture upholstering and bedspreads.
Lighter sewing projects can take advantage of our 44"
wide non-upholstery grade barkcloth fabrics. These are warm to the touch
not cool and crisp like cotton poplins. They feel like a soft linen, They are suitable for vintage
clothing, sewing delightfully beautiful curtains, loose slipcovers, throw
pillows, duvet covers, bedspreads and crafting projects for art and craft
shows. Really these fabrics are works of art because the
patterns are always changing. You'll need to be sure to collect your favorites
as you see them. Buy what
you love when you see it as they are likely to never be reprinted again.
Poplin and broadcloth and when available rayon are
available as apparel fabrics,
use these for quilting and other fun sewing projects. They too
feature luscious Hawaiian flower patterns such as hibiscus, bird of
paradise, banana leaves and parrots, tropical fish and flamingos.
The majority of our fabrics have between a 24" and 27"
vertical pattern repeat. Some of our 60" wide upholstery grade canvas
fabrics have a railroaded pattern meaning the pattern runs horizontally.
Most all of our upholstery fabrics have been treated to be water resistant,
they are strong and long lasting and fade beautifully if left in the sun.
Our nubby and most of our bark cloth crepe upholstery grade fabrics have been treated with a flame retardant
and are also water resistant. The art on these fabrics run
either as a panel or overall layout this can be seen below. |
